Lisa Maldonado
I am extremely excited to be working for Waggin' Train LLC as a professional dog trainer! I am a certified graduate of Animal Behavior College. I have interned with Dianne for almost 1-year. I now work full-time as an In-Home Dog Trainer for Waggin' Train LLC covering the Phoenix West valley area. I train basic obedience, house manners, potty training, and socialization with dogs of all ages.
I am also contracted with a larger company in the valley, ensuring that all people get the training and information they need to have a great relationship with their dog.
I am excited to be Pool Safety Trainer for Wet N' Waggin'; Waggin' Train LLC's newest program! I have trained all of my dogs, including my friends, and even Dianne's' dogs to be water savvy! I have trained their dogs to retrieve and swim laps as well! I can not say that my Pekingese is all too excited about his water training; after all it is undignified and he is not your "common water dog", but my Rottweiler could stay in all day if I let him!
With Wet N' Waggin' I am fortunate to be training dogs all over the valley so that they can feel comfortable in their own pool, which will eventually and hopefully save many dogs from drowning.
My canine background experiences include:
- Graduate of Animal Behavior College
- Internship with Waggin' Train LLC for 6 months before employment
- Member of APDT – Association of Pet Dog Trainers
- Red Cross Certified for Canine CPR & First Aid
- Studies in Canine Massage Therapy and Animal Intuition
- Grooming Certification
- I also volunteer my time dog training at various shelters throughout the valley
I have had the fortunate opportunity of being a guardian to many dogs since my childhood. I have also trained hearing impaired dogs, and I am extending my knowledge by studying and living with a visually impaired dog, my pug, of which I have recently adopted.
Why I train dogs? It is purely and simply to witness a dog think before they react. Watching a dog progress through training and see them to be not so reactive, but to really THINK, is so genuinely rewarding to me as a trainer whether the dog is on land or in the water.
I look forward to meeting you and your dog(s) soon!
